Twohy Building

The Twohy Building, a historic site in Downtown San Jose, California, was constructed in 1917 for Judge John W. Twohy, founder of the Twohy Brothers Construction Company. This company played a significant role in the development of railroads and public works, particularly after the 1906 San Francisco earthquake. Designed by architect William Binder in the Classical Revival style, the building features professional offices above a prominent ground floor drug store. It has been recognized on the National Register of Historic Places since 2003 and is a key landmark that contributed to establishing South 1st as the business hub of San Jose.
