Darth Vader grotesque at Washington National Cathedral

Washington National Cathedral's northwest tower includes a carved grotesque depicting the Star Wars character Darth Vader. The figure was added in 1980 after a children's design contest and is one of several modern-themed grotesques on the cathedral's exterior.
