La Rambla Building

The La Rambla Building, constructed in 1929 in Carmel-by-the-Sea, California, is a notable example of Spanish Eclectic architecture. Designed by architect Guy O. Koepp, this two-story structure features shops on the ground floor and living quarters above, with a charming central arcade passageway adorned with flat ceramic tiles from Seville. Its distinctive design includes arched openings, wrought iron balconies, and a low-pitched Spanish roof. Recognized for its historical significance, it was nominated for the California Register of Historical Resources in 2003. Over the years, it has housed various businesses, including antique shops and garden stores, making it a vibrant part of the local community and a point of interest for visitors and researchers alike.
