MaestraPeace Mural at The Women’s Building

The MaestraPeace mural, painted on the exterior of The Women’s Building, was completed in 1994 by a group of artists and celebrates women’s cultural and political contributions. The large, colorful panels cover the building’s western facade and are a frequent subject of photography and social-media posts highlighting Mission District street art. The mural is maintained as a public community artwork and is included in walking tours and cultural guides.
