Bunker Hill Monument

Bunker Hill Monument is a 221-foot granite obelisk completed in 1843 that commemorates the Battle of Bunker Hill fought on June 17, 1775. The principal fighting occurred on nearby Breed's Hill, a historical detail often noted in accounts of the battle. The monument and the adjacent Bunker Hill Museum are part of the Boston National Historical Park and are open to visitors.
