Mark Twain Study

The Mark Twain Study, an octagonal wooden building located on the Elmira College campus in New York, was originally constructed in 1874 at Quarry Farm, the summer home of Twain's sister-in-law. This iconic workspace is where Mark Twain penned classics such as The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. Moved to the college in 1952 for preservation, the study showcases late 19th-century American vernacular architecture and is open to the public for tours.
