Dinsdale Park

Dinsdale Park is a historic 19th-century mansion located in Low Dinsdale, near Darlington, County Durham, England. Originally built as a Spa hotel by John Lambton, 1st Earl of Durham, in 1829, it features a striking design by architect Ignatius Bonomi. The mansion, which accommodated up to seventy guests, was established after the discovery of a natural spring with sulphurated mineral water in 1789. Despite its initial purpose, the hotel struggled to succeed and was repurposed for residential use in 1844. Over the years, Dinsdale Park has served various functions, including a psychiatric hospital and a nursing home, before being converted into residential apartments. The estate is a Grade II listed building, making it a notable site for tourists and researchers interested in England's architectural and social history.
