Provisional Government of the Republic of Korea Memorial Hall, Chongqing

The Provisional Government of the Republic of Korea Memorial Hall in Chongqing, China, serves as a significant historical museum dedicated to the Korean Provisional Government, which operated in exile during the Japanese colonial period from 1910 to 1945. This site was the final headquarters of the government from 1940 to 1945, where they established the Korean Liberation Army. Opened as a museum in 1995, it features five grey brick buildings and covers an area of 1,770 m2, making it the largest memorial to the KPG in China. The museum has undergone renovations to preserve its exhibits and continues to attract visitors, including notable figures such as South Korean president Moon Jae-in in 2017.
