Junípero Serra Museum (Presidio Park)

The Junípero Serra Museum, built in 1928 in Presidio Park, interprets the 1769 Portolá expedition and the founding of Mission San Diego de Alcalá. The museum houses artifacts, exhibits, and archival material related to the Spanish colonial period and the early Franciscan mission in Alta California. It marks the location of the Presidio and commemorates the first European settlement in what became San Diego.
