Exploratorium at Pier 15

The Exploratorium relocated from the Palace of Fine Arts to a rehabilitated Pier 15 on the Embarcadero and reopened there in April 2013. The museum occupies a long, largely glass-walled pier building that was seismically upgraded and adapted to support hands-on science exhibits and public engagement. Its waterfront location and pier-specific design are central features of the museum's visitor experience.
