Independence Seaport Museum and Historic Vessels

Located at Penn's Landing, the Independence Seaport Museum preserves maritime infrastructure and historic vessels that document Philadelphia's port history. The museum's site includes the protected cruiser USS Olympia (commissioned 1892) and the WWII submarine USS Becuna, both berthed at the museum and interpreted as examples of naval and waterfront infrastructure. Exhibits address the Delaware River's role in commerce, shipbuilding, and port engineering from the 19th century onward.
