Old Bakery & Emporium (1876 commercial building)

The Old Bakery & Emporium is housed in a brick commercial building constructed in 1876 at the corner of Congress Avenue and 11th Street, making it one of Austin's oldest surviving commercial structures. Over its history the building served various commercial uses, including as a bakery, and was later preserved and adapted to house a city-operated emporium and interpretive space. The building's continuous preservation illustrates late 19th-century commercial infrastructure on Congress Avenue.
