House of Tan Yeok Nee

The House of Tan Yeok Nee is a historic mansion located at 101 Penang Road in Singapore, built between 1882 and 1885 by businessman Tan Yeok Nee. It is the only remaining structure of the Four Mansions from the late 19th century and showcases traditional Chinese architecture. After serving various purposes, including a home for the Salvation Army and an educational institution, it was restored in 2000 and currently houses the Amity Global Institute. The mansion reflects the cultural heritage of Singapore and is a designated national monument, making it a significant site for both tourists and researchers interested in Singapore's history and architecture.
