Constructed between the 19th and early 20th centuries, these structures have housed a variety of businesses, including the original Lazarus department store and the first Kroger supermarket in the city. They are notable for their decorative brickwork, arched windows, and storefronts designed for window-shopping. As the last remaining examples of their kind on South High Street, they are eligible for historic designation and were recently placed on the Columbus Landmarks Foundation's Most Endangered List, highlighting their significance amidst ongoing development plans.
