935–939 Broadway

935–939 Broadway is a historic six-story Italianate brownstone located in Manhattan's Flatiron District, designed by architect Griffith Thomas and built between 1861 and 1862. Originally commissioned by Richard Mortimer, the building has served various purposes over the years, including housing a business college and a dry goods company. Notably, it was once associated with the Glenham Hotel, although its exact historical ties are debated. The building gained notoriety in 1882 when Cornelius Jeremiah Vanderbilt tragically took his life there. In recent years, it has transformed into the first official Wizarding World and Harry Potter flagship store in New York City, attracting fans and tourists alike.
