Alvarado Adobe

Alvarado Adobe is a historical landmark located in San Pablo, California, built in 1842 by Jesús María Castro for his mother, Dona Gabriéla Berryessa de Castro. The site has rich historical significance, as it was part of the Rancho San Pablo granted to Castro in 1823 after the secularization of Mission San Francisco de Asís lands. The adobe house features gardens and a grape arbor, and after Dona Gabriéla's death, it was inherited by her daughter, Martina, who married Governor Juan Bautista Alvarado. The adobe is now a museum, with a replica and additional historical structures nearby, making it an interesting destination for tourists and researchers interested in California's early history and architecture.
