Malatestiana Library

The Malatestiana Library, located in Cesena, Italy, is a historic public library established between 1447 and 1452, making it the first civic library in Europe. Commissioned by Malatesta Novello, it features stunning early Renaissance architecture, including a basilica-like layout with vaulted ceilings and intricate wooden furnishings. The library houses a unique collection of manuscripts, including Greek texts and illuminated law books, and has remained largely intact since its opening in 1454.
