Capt. John Koonts Jr. Farm

Capt. John Koonts Jr. Farm is a historic home and farm complex located near Tyro in Davidson County, North Carolina. Built around 1870, the property features a unique two-story hexagonal Italianate Revival style central section complemented by three Greek Revival style one-story wings arranged in a 'Y'-plan. Visitors can explore various historic structures on the site, including a double pen log barn, a log corn crib, a log granary, and a frame well house. The farm was recognized for its historical significance and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1984, making it an interesting destination for tourists and researchers alike.
