Celtics clinch 2008 NBA championship at TD Garden

On June 17, 2008 the Boston Celtics defeated the Los Angeles Lakers 131–92 in Game 6 of the NBA Finals at TD Garden to clinch the championship. The Celtics won the series 4–2 and Paul Pierce was named Finals MVP. The 2008 title was the franchise’s 17th NBA championship and the victory took place in the arena that succeeded the Boston Garden.
