Havana Yacht Club

The Havana Yacht Club, established in 1885 by Joseph White-Todd, was a significant social and nautical hub located near La Concha Beach in Marianao, Havana. Known for organizing regattas and various maritime events, the club faced political challenges in the 1930s when it was temporarily closed due to allegations of conspiracy against the government. After being cleared of charges, it resumed operations. Following the 1959 Revolution, the club was renamed the Julio Antonio Mella Social Club, reflecting the changes in Cuba's political landscape.
