Cathedral of Junk

Created beginning in 1988 by Vince Hannemann, the Cathedral of Junk is a multi-level assemblage of recycled materials built in a private South Austin backyard that functions as a long-term outsider art installation. The evolving structure has been maintained and expanded over decades and is a documented local landmark featured in regional media and guidebooks. It is occasionally opened to the public by appointment or during community open days and is used for informal gatherings and visits.
