Brizendine House

The Brizendine House, built around 1870, is a historic home located in downtown Austin, Texas. This vernacular limestone structure showcases the lifestyle of a late 19th-century working middle-class family and features Victorian architectural influences. It was constructed by John R. Brizendine, a local carpenter, and remained in his family until 1928. The house is recognized for its historical significance, being listed on the National Register of Historic Places and designated as a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark in 1974, as well as a State Antiquities Landmark in 1981. Today, it stands amidst modern developments, offering a glimpse into Austin's rich history.
