Academy of Music - oldest continuously operating opera house

The Academy of Music opened in 1857 and is commonly cited as the oldest continuously operating opera house in the United States. It has hosted operas, ballets, concerts, and Broadway productions for more than 160 years and is a National Historic Landmark. The venue continues to serve as an active performing-arts house in Center City Philadelphia.
