San Francisco City Hall

San Francisco City Hall, completed in 1915, is a Beaux-Arts civic building that replaced the pre-1906 city hall destroyed in the earthquake and fire. Its dome rises higher than the dome of the United States Capitol, making it one of the city's most prominent architectural features. The building houses the offices of the mayor and the Board of Supervisors and has hosted numerous official ceremonies and public events.
