Frisco Building

The Frisco Building, located in downtown St. Louis, Missouri, is a historic office building constructed between 1903 and 1904 as the headquarters for the St. Louis–San Francisco Railway, known as the Frisco. Designed by the architectural firm Eames and Young, the building features notable architectural elements such as subtle ornamentation and a pier and spandrel system, which were significant advancements in skyscraper design. The Frisco played a crucial role in Missouri's economic growth through railroad construction for nearly eighty years. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on March 29, 1983, making it a noteworthy site for both tourists and researchers interested in the history of railroads and architecture.
