Compton Building

The Compton Building, located in Boston's Financial District, is a historic eleven-story Classical Revival skyscraper built between 1902 and 1903. Designed by Henry Forbes Bigelow, it exemplifies early 20th-century architecture with its steel frame and stone exterior. The building features a distinctive facade with a repeated window pattern and a stylistic cap at the top. Originally serving as office space for various businesses, it fell into vacancy by the 1960s but has since been revitalized as the Club Quarters Hotel, complete with a restaurant on the ground floor. The Compton Building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2008, making it a notable site for tourists and researchers interested in Boston's architectural history.
