USS Constitution - War of 1812 naval victories

USS Constitution was built at the Charlestown Navy Yard and launched in 1797; she is the world's oldest commissioned naval vessel still afloat. During the War of 1812 she defeated several British warships, most famously HMS Guerriere on August 19, 1812, an action that contributed to her nickname "Old Ironsides." The ship is preserved and berthed at the Charlestown Navy Yard as a museum ship that interprets her battle history. Visitors can view the vessel and related exhibits at the Navy Yard.
