The St. George Hotel (Bermuda)

The St. George Hotel, established in 1906 in the historic town of St. George's, Bermuda, was a luxurious winter retreat featuring over 100 rooms, extensive grounds, and amenities like a large ballroom, tennis courts, and one of Bermuda's largest indoor swimming pools. It attracted notable guests, including F. Scott Fitzgerald and his wife Zelda. The hotel underwent various renovations and was owned by the Furness Bermuda Line, which facilitated tourist arrivals. In the 1970s, it was demolished and replaced by the St. George Club, which included remnants of the original hotel, such as the golf course and beach club. The St. George Club closed in 2020 and was refurbished by the St Regis Hotel group, reopening in May 2022.
