Original Boston Garden demolished

The original Boston Garden, opened in 1928 and home to the Celtics and Bruins for decades, was closed after the opening of its replacement and was demolished in 1998. The site and surrounding rail and arena facilities were redeveloped into the current North Station/TD Garden complex and associated infrastructure. The demolition marked the end of a sports and entertainment venue that had hosted numerous historic athletic and cultural events.
