Ponce YMCA Building

The Ponce YMCA Building, located in Ponce, Puerto Rico, is a historic site listed on the National Register of Historic Places since June 4, 2012. Established in 1947, the building serves as a community hub, offering daycare and various programs for over 400 children, especially during summer months. Its architect, Pedro A. de Castro Gaya, designed the structure, which features a notable interior mural by Rafael Rios Rey. The YMCA has a rich history, facing challenges such as hurricanes and the Great Depression, but has remained a vital part of the community, collaborating with local organizations like the Boy Scouts.
