First United Methodist Church (Crockett, Texas)

First United Methodist Church, located at 701 E Goliad Ave in Crockett, Texas, is one of the oldest continuously operating Methodist congregations in the state, organized in 1839. The current building, featuring stunning stained-glass windows crafted in Bavaria, was completed in 1902 and is noted for its unique Akron-style sanctuary. The church is home to a historic bell from 1859 and a specially built pipe organ from 1915. Recognized for its historical significance, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2011. The church has undergone several expansions and renovations over the years, reflecting its vibrant community and rich heritage.
