Binion's Horseshoe - origin of the World Series of Poker

Binion's Horseshoe (originally Binion's) on Fremont Street hosted the inaugural World Series of Poker (WSOP) beginning in 1970 under owner Benny Binion. The WSOP was held at Binion's annually through 2004 before moving to the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in 2005. Binion's remains a recognized site in Las Vegas gambling history because of its association with the tournament's origins.
