The House of Culture (Stockholm)

The House of Culture, or Kulturhuset, is a prominent cultural center located in central Stockholm, Sweden, near Sergels torg. Designed by modernist architect Peter Celsing and opened in 1971, it features a striking concrete and glass façade alongside a stainless steel theatre. Originally intended to house the Moderna Museet, the center now hosts a variety of cultural events, including exhibitions, concerts, and literary discussions. It also includes restaurants, a library, and conference spaces. Since 1990, it has been home to the Stockholm City Theatre, and in 2013, it merged with the theatre to enhance its cultural offerings. A unique children's space called TioTretton allows kids to explore freely while adults remain at a designated boundary.
