Holly Grove Mansion

Holly Grove Mansion, also known as Holly Grove Inn or Ruffner Mansion, is a historic house located in Charleston, West Virginia, on the grounds of the West Virginia State Capitol. Originally built in 1815 for Daniel Ruffner, a key figure in the early salt industry of the Kanawha Valley, the mansion showcases a striking two-story semi-circular portico. The house underwent significant remodeling in 1902 under new owner John Nash and was extensively rehabilitated in 1979 to serve as the headquarters for the West Virginia Commission on Aging. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1974, making it a notable site for tourists and researchers interested in West Virginia's architectural and industrial history.
