Cobo Arena hosted professional basketball in downtown Detroit

Cobo Arena (part of the complex now known as Huntington Place) in downtown Detroit was a primary venue for professional basketball in the city and served as the home arena for the NBA's Detroit Pistons during the 1960s and 1970s. The arena also hosted numerous college basketball games and regional tournaments during that period. Cobo Arena's role in Detroit sports history predates the Pistons' later moves to suburban venues.
