Tomb of Khan-i Jahan Tilangani

The Tomb of Khan-i Jahan Tilangani, located in Nizamuddin West, Delhi, is a significant historical site completed in 1388. It is notable for being the earliest octagonal tomb in modern-day India, with its design possibly inspired by the Dome of the Rock in Jerusalem. The structure features an octagonal burial chamber surrounded by a verandah with three arched entrances on each side, topped with a dome crowned by an amalaka. This architectural style influenced later dynasties, making it a key example of early Indo-Islamic architecture.
