169 Mary Street is a heritage-listed warehouse located in the heart of Brisbane's CBD, designed by architect Richard Gailey and constructed between 1887 and 1888. Known as the Coal Board Building, it reflects the late Victorian architectural style and the commercial boom of the 1880s in Queensland. Originally built for prominent pastoralists William Allan and William Graham, the warehouse has served various purposes over the years, including as a hub for importers and manufacturers. The building features ornate masonry, arched openings, and a distinctive twin gable roof, contributing to the historical character of the area. It was added to the Queensland Heritage Register in 1992, highlighting its significance in demonstrating the evolution of Brisbane's commercial landscape and its aesthetic value to the community.
