Boston Marathon finish line at Copley Square

The Boston Marathon, first run in 1897, is the world’s oldest annual marathon. Its finish line runs along Boylston Street at Copley Square in front of the Boston Public Library, and the race has been finished at that downtown Boston location for many decades. The event is organized annually by the Boston Athletic Association and is a central fixture of Boston's sports history.
