Faner Hall (SIUC)

Faner Hall is a prominent building at Southern Illinois University Carbondale, named after former English professor Robert D. Faner. This Brutalist architectural marvel, stretching 914 feet and standing four stories tall, serves as a central hub for the College of Liberal Arts, housing various departments including Anthropology, History, and Political Science. Completed in 1974, it has a rich history, including a tragic construction site accident in 1972.
