Masonic Home for Children

The Masonic Home for Children, established in 1925 by Louisiana Masons in Alexandria, Louisiana, is a historic site that reflects the philanthropic efforts of the Masonic community. It was recognized for its historical significance when it was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1987. After closing in 1994, the expansive 70-acre property remained unused until 2012, when parts of the original buildings were demolished to make way for a new upscale apartment complex, blending history with modern development.
