Dartmouth House

Dartmouth House is a stunning Georgian building located in the heart of Mayfair, London, serving as the headquarters of the English-Speaking Union. Originally constructed in the mid-18th century, it was once two separate residences before being transformed into a single elegant home by banker Edward Baring in the late 19th century. The house features exquisite French Rococo design elements, including a painted ceiling by Pierre-Victor Galland. It has a rich history, having served as a family home, a military hospital during World War I, and now as a cultural hub, welcoming over 40,000 visitors annually. The building is recognized for its architectural significance, being listed Grade II* on the National Heritage List for England since 1987.
