Jubilee Hall, Fisk University

Jubilee Hall, completed in the 1870s, was Fisk University's first permanent building and is closely tied to the school's post–Civil War development. Funds for the building's construction were raised in part by the Fisk Jubilee Singers through touring performances; the hall is recognized as a National Historic Landmark for its significance to African American education. Jubilee Hall remains a central historic structure on Fisk University's campus and is an early surviving example of buildings at historically black colleges and universities.
