Former Daniel A. Tompkins Company Machine Shop

The Former Daniel A. Tompkins Company Machine Shop is a historic factory building located in Charlotte, North Carolina. Constructed between 1904 and 1905, this two-story brick structure features a rectangular design and a smaller one-story ell. The building underwent expansions in 1911 and saw the addition of an office section before 1929. Known for manufacturing textile machinery, supplies, and equipment, the site reflects the industrial heritage of the region and was recognized for its historical significance by being added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2001, making it an interesting stop for tourists and researchers alike.
