Las Vegas Mormon Fort State Historic Park

The Las Vegas Mormon Fort, established in 1855 by Mormon missionaries, is the oldest non-native structure in the Las Vegas Valley and is preserved as a state historic park. The fort and nearby springs were documented on 19th-century maps and in travelers' accounts and served as a notable landmark and watering place for early surveyors and mapmakers. Its location is referenced in early field notes and plats that informed later survey work and the 1905 Las Vegas townsite layout.
