Cadle Tabernacle

The Cadle Tabernacle, established in 1921 in Indianapolis, Indiana, was the largest church in the United States at the time, with a seating capacity of 10,000. Founded by E. Howard Cadle, it became a hub for evangelical programs and radio broadcasts, notably reaching audiences via WLW in Cincinnati during the 1930s. The tabernacle faced controversies, including disputes over its purpose and funding, and was associated with various events, including boxing matches and Klan meetings. After a period of disuse, it reopened in 1931 and continued to host broadcasts until its demolition in 1968. The site now serves other purposes, but its historical significance remains a point of interest for visitors and researchers alike.
