Old St. Mary's Church (Old St. Mary's Cathedral)

Old St. Mary's Church at 660 California Street was completed in 1854 and is one of San Francisco's oldest surviving church buildings. It served the city's early Catholic community during the Gold Rush and functioned as the city's cathedral in the 19th century. The church sustained damage in the 1906 earthquake and fire and was subsequently repaired and restored. Its brick and timber construction reflects mid-19th-century ecclesiastical architecture in San Francisco.
