Fremont Trolley Barn

The Fremont Trolley Barn, located in Seattle's Fremont neighborhood, is a historic building originally constructed in 1905 as a maintenance base for streetcars. Over the years, it has served various purposes, including a warehouse and a garbage truck garage. Notably, it was home to Redhook Ale Brewery, one of Seattle's first craft breweries, from 1988 to 1998, and later became the production center for Theo Chocolate, a pioneer in organic, fair-trade chocolate. The building, designated a Seattle Landmark in 1989, offers a glimpse into the city's transportation history and its evolution into a hub for craft brewing and artisanal chocolate making, attracting numerous visitors until its recent closure in 2025.
