The Averitt House is a historic log structure located in rural Miller County, Arkansas, approximately 7 miles south of Texarkana. Built between 1931 and 1933 by local health inspector Tom Averitt, this unique L-shaped house showcases rustic log architecture with unfinished logs and a distinctive shed-roof porch. A fieldstone chimney adds to its charm, and the logs were sourced from the site itself. The property also includes a log garage built by Averitt. The Averitt House was recognized for its historical significance and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1992, making it an interesting site for tourists and researchers alike.
