Sunny Jim Sea Cave (access via The Cave Store)

The Sunny Jim Sea Cave in La Jolla is reached through a man-made tunnel cut through the sandstone bluffs and accessed from The Cave Store on the cliff above. The tunnel was excavated in the early 20th century to provide land access to the sea cave and remains a documented local attraction. Visitors descend the stairway in the tunnel to reach the cave mouth at the waterline, making it one of the few sea caves in the area accessible from land. The Cave Store operates the entrance and interpretive signage for visitors year-round.
