Clemens Automobile Company Building

The Clemens Automobile Company Building, completed in 1916, is a historic site in downtown Des Moines, Iowa, known for being one of the largest automotive department stores of its time. Originally selling cars from Willys-Overland Motors, the building features a unique layout with various floors dedicated to sales, service, and storage. After serving multiple purposes over the decades, including housing a brewery and apartments, it now hosts a southern restaurant called Bubba. This six-story Neoclassical structure, designed by Sawyer & Watrous, was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2009, making it a notable destination for tourists and researchers interested in automotive history and architecture.
